Wrong! The Black Ship, if that is what you are thinking, intervened to wipe out the stricken ship and its crew with a cannon shot. This would seem redundant.
The Quest was officially terminated. Two presses on the spacebar did it. But the Prize was to be won by the Cybernauts in the end, even after termination was in effect, in an unexpected way that the Black Ship and its captain had no part in choosing.
